Ok, I didn't write the story above, but I read it and it explained something that is so complicated in such a simple manner, it got me thinking, and these are my thoughts.
Those coffee shops are people that tell you, "You will never make it in life". People that don't believe you are capable of anything. Negative people. You will run into these types of people many many times, until it may even become your reality. You may believe, and say to yourself, you know what, they are right, I will not become somebody, and my value is $5. This is not the way to live, or the right attitude to be successful in life, you have to believe in MORE.
You have to believe in yourself, believe in your talent or your capabilities. You need to be very disciplined and work hard, but most importantly, when the opportunity comes along, you need to grab it with both hands and make it your reality. And the opportunity does not always look like an opportunity, but sometimes you need to go for it. Also, you need to surround yourself with positive people (good influence) because you will learn from those around you.
I was once valued at $5 by many people (so to say), but I always believed I was worth more. I have followed my own advice, and I am happy to report that; Even though I am not valued at a million dollars, I am definitely worth much more than many of them (the coffee shops) believed I could be.
Everyone has a talent; everyone is good at something, find yours and express it. Be your maximum.
I wish more people would have this mindset and not enough do. I agree, a very positive thing to believe in life.
